4 Refreshing Steps to Reconnect with Your Intuitive Self

When we, as empaths, deny our past, or avoid dealing with it (though we are well aware of it), we can find ourselves unconsciously recreating the same traumas we never worked to heal. This is often how narcissistic relationships begin.

We give to another and seek their approval to avoid dealing with our own issues. In our process of self-abandonment, we attract narcissists, who devour our light, and eat away at our connection with our intuition through gaslighting and manipulation.

Having personally experienced lots of manipulation and gaslighting by narcissists disguised as spiritual teachers for many years, I feel grateful for all that I learned directly from the oral lineage traditions. Following the teachings themselves more deeply than ever before was what empowered me to finally free myself from the toxic influence of some of my teachers, and reclaim the power of my own intuitive, creative self.

Here are some powerful, refreshing steps I followed to reconnect with my intuition and creativity, that I would encourage you to try.

1. Spend less time with people who deplete you energetically.

Notice how different people in your life make you feel. Are there people in your life who make you feel energized and inspired while others drain your energy and make you feel exhausted?

Honestly reflecting on these questions will allow you to discern how much time and energy you should ideally spend with different people in your life.

It is almost impossible to tune into your intuition when you are constantly around those who do their best to dissuade you from believing what you feel is true. When you try to share spiritual insights with people who are not pursuing spirituality, they might make fun of you for it or completely invalidate you.

To protect your connection with your intuition, therefore, you may need to cut away situations that could cause you to stop trusting in your inner voice. Along with this comes letting go of needing to gain everyone else’s approval.

Family members especially can be quite hard to handle when you are pursuing a spiritual path. You can set ‘fragrant boundaries’ by sharing that you need a specific amount of time to do whatever inspires you spiritually and sharing when you can connect outside of that time.

Doing so is not selfish; it is essential to connect with the best part of you, so when you return to those you care about, you will feel energized and can better be there for them, too.

2. Spend more time doing solitary activities.

Solitude is necessary to go inward, and going inward is essential to reconnect with the power of your intuition, which lives deep within you. Spending time daily doing introverted things like writing in a journal, going for a walk by yourself, or reading inspiring books helps awaken your creativity, the guidance of your intuition, and your ability to practice self-approval. Spending time in solitude is also the fertile soil for the blossoming of your creativity.

3. Create a sacred sanctuary space where you can connect with your intuition.

It helps to dedicate a special place where you can visit to connect with the inner guidance of the divine within you. You can include different symbols in your sacred space that inspire you, and remind you of your most expanded, true self. Spiritual books, artwork, incense, candles, letters, and crystals are just some ideas for what you can possibly include in your sanctuary space.

4. Notice synchronicities of repeat messages, symbols, numbers, and animals in your dreams and waking life and research their deeper meanings.

Being awake to various signs, symbols, animals, and important numbers in your life is a powerful practice. You can write down what you notice on a recurring basis in your journal to begin to observe if there are certain themes or messages that keep revealing themselves to you. These could be cluing you into your next creative project and/or major life decision.

These steps to reconnect with your most intuitive, creative self not only protect you from getting taken over by narcissists; they also hold the keys to unlock the power of expression of your most authentic self.
